Rather watch than read? I made a video on this too. It's at the bottom of this post, or you can watch it on YouTube here.
I've been driving truck for about forty years, and I've watched trucking outfits fold on a Friday and take drivers' paychecks right along with 'em. Trucks parked, gates locked, guys standing around wondering where their last check went.
So before I build one more dollar of residual income anywhere, there's one question I ask. Most folks never think to ask it.
How long have you been around?
A check for life sounds great, doesn't it? Lifetime commissions. Residual income. Get paid every month whether you work or not.
But here's what nobody tells you. That check is only as good as the company that's writing it.
Residual income is pointless if you're building it somewhere that doesn't have staying power.

Not every residual income stream is the same
Quick bit about me if you're new here. Dad of five and a grandpa. I ride Harleys, I've got tattoos, I'm rough around the edges, and I am not a computer guy.
Before I found what I'm doing now, I tried other things. MLM. Wholesaling. And the friend who showed me HBA had just been burned by a different program himself. So I didn't get lucky on my first try. I've been around the block, and I'm careful now.
You can have the best commission plan in the world, but if the company behind it is gone next year, that "lifetime" commission is just a paycheck on a countdown clock. Most folks don't find that out until the checks stop.
So here's what I look for now:
- How long have they been paying people?
- Are the founders still there?
- Are they still building, or just coasting?
The company I'm with is The Home Business Academy, HBA for short. They've been at it over ten years. They've paid out more than $7.1 million to over 2,900 people. And the two guys who started it, Paul Hutchings and Mike Hobbs, are still right there running it. They didn't cash out and disappear. That mattered a lot to me.
Now the third question. Are they still building?
This is the part that got me fired up.
A while back, Paul turned to Mike on a car ride and said he thought maybe he should become a programmer. Mike thought he was nuts. Paul was serious. A few years later they fired their programmers, dropped the outside systems, and rebuilt their whole marketing platform from scratch.
The old funnel builder? Gone. What they built in its place does so much now that calling it a funnel builder doesn't cover it anymore. So now it's just called The Builder.

What The Builder means for a guy like me
If you've ever tried to build a funnel yourself, you know how it goes. You pick a template. You rewrite every word in it. You try to figure out where the form even sends people. Then you've got to write the emails. HBA added it up, and doing all that by hand runs around seventeen hours. For a lot of people it's seventeen hours to never, because the tech stops them cold.
That's what gets people our age. It's not the work. We know how to work. It's the settings and the plugins and the stuff that won't connect, and nobody can tell you why.
Here's what one member did with The Builder. His name's Luc. He typed one request, nineteen words: build a complete funnel for the HBA Turnkey System, use my HBA profile within Maestro to get it done.
About seven minutes later he had a capture page. A free gift written for him, called The Residual Income Checklist. A thank you page that delivers it. A brand new email list. The forms hooked up to that list. And six welcome emails, written in his voice.
Seven minutes. I've spent longer than that looking for my reading glasses.
He's not the only one. A member named William said he'd spent about a month trying to build one web page. In under thirty minutes with The Builder he had the page, an opt in page, a thank you page, a list, and five follow up emails. Another guy, Dirk, has been doing this stuff for twelve years. He said he built the best looking funnel he's ever made, and it was done in about five minutes.
And it's not just funnels. It builds membership sites, stores and blogs the same way. Heck, this blog you're reading lives on it. You can even bring the ChatGPT or Claude you already pay for and use it right inside The Builder.
Now look. I'm not going to tell you this makes you rich. It doesn't. It's a tool. You still have to show up and put in the work. If anybody tells you different, run.
But it does take away the excuse I hear more than any other. "Danny, I'm just not techy." I get it. I'm not either. That excuse just doesn't hold up anymore.

Come see it for yourself Monday night
This Monday, October 26th, at 8 o'clock Eastern (7 Central), Paul and Mike are doing a free live overview on Zoom. They're going to type one plain English request into The Builder in front of everybody and let you watch it build a whole funnel, start to finish, with the clock running. Nothing rehearsed off camera.
When you sign up there's a little box that asks what business they should build live. Put your idea in there. They're going to pick some and build them right on the call.
They'll also give straight answers on what it costs and what's included. No dancing around it.
And stay to the end. There's an exclusive bonus only for people who watch all the way through. They're not saying what it is. It's not on the page, it won't be in an email, and you can't buy it.
This isn't for everybody. If you'd rather wrestle with settings and plugins yourself, skip it. If you've already decided AI is a fad, skip it. If you're looking for a get rich quick deal, definitely skip it.
But if you've ever started a website or a funnel and got stuck before you finished it, if you know what you want to build and the tech keeps getting in the way, or if you're just curious what this AI stuff can really do, come hang out Monday night.
Save your free seat here: https://thehba.app/revolution/dannykrencisz
Even if you never join anything, come watch anyway. Worst case, you finally understand AI well enough to explain it to your grandkids for a change.
Before you build another dollar of residual income anywhere, ask that one question. Is this place going to be here when I'm ready to slow down? For me, that answer is HBA.

Here's me saying all this out loud. If it helps, give it a like and subscribe on my YouTube channel so you catch the next one.
Thanks for reading. Make it happen.
Danny
P.S. The overview is free and it's this Monday, October 26th, at 8 Eastern, 7 Central. Bring your idea and they might build it live. https://thehba.app/revolution/dannykrencisz
